The rich ruler (Luke 18:18-30)

I’ve worked so hard

All my life.

Diligent in my religion

And in my work.

But still unsure

Of my eternal worth

I sought him out.

Only one thing,

He said,

Only one thing.

But, that one thing

A step too far,

I walked away

And both of us,

I think,

Were sad.
